We’re halfway through January, and Samsung is nearly done with the Android 14 updates for eligible Galaxy devices. They’ve already updated over 50 models to the new Android version, which includes One UI 6.0. The remaining devices are getting it now. The Galaxy A13 (LTE) is the latest phone to receive the Android 14-based One UI 6.0 update.
Let’s talk about the Galaxy A13. It’s now getting Samsung’s Android 14 update. Just three weeks ago, Samsung rolled out the Android 14 update for the Galaxy A13 5G. But, the 4G/LTE version didn’t get the update at the same time. Now, it’s the LTE-only Galaxy A13’s turn. The update started rolling out recently in South Korea. Users are now receiving the update with the firmware build number A135NKSU5DWL5.
Advertisement break! (Just kidding, let’s keep going.)
Samsung is about to release One UI 6.0 for the Galaxy A13 (LTE) worldwide. As always, you’ll get a notification when the OTA (over-the-air) update package arrives on your Galaxy device. You can tap on the notification to download the update. Or, you can manually check for updates in the Settings app on your phone. Just go to the Software update menu and tap on Download and install.
This update is a game-changer. It will significantly enhance your Galaxy experience. One UI 6.0 introduces some UI changes, new camera features, and editing tools. It also improves homescreen widgets, adds lockscreen customization options, and enhances multitasking. There are new accessibility settings and improved stock apps. And let’s not forget about the security fixes and enhancements.
But, here’s the catch. This might be the last feature update for the Galaxy A13. This budget phone debuted with Android 12 and has now received two major Android OS upgrades, i.e., Android 13 and Android 14. Samsung provides longer update support for flagship models—seven Android OS upgrades for the Galaxy S24 series. But, low-cost devices don’t get this privilege.
Now, let’s talk about the One UI 6.1 update. Samsung’s Android 14 update brought One UI 6.0 to Galaxy devices. A few days ago, the company introduced One UI 6.1 with the Galaxy S24 series. This new One UI version will also be available to older models, including the Galaxy S23 series and recent foldables. The Korean firm plans to push the update to over 100 million Galaxy devices in the first half of this year. Will the Galaxy A13 get One UI 6.1? We’ll keep you posted when the rollout begins.
