Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra Camera Specs Confirmed by Latest Leak
The highly-anticipated Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra is set to make waves in the smartphone world in 2024. While the official release is still three months away, several leaks have already given us a glimpse of what to expect from this flagship device. Among the most notable changes are the design and camera upgrades, and the latest leak has finally confirmed the camera specifications of the upcoming phone.
One significant change in the camera setup of the Galaxy S24 Ultra is the removal of the 10x optical zoom camera. Instead, Samsung has opted for a 5x lens, coupled with a 3x lens that was already present in the 2023 model. Initially, Samsung planned to use Sony’s IMX875 sensor for the 5x zoom camera. However, the company has now decided to go with the Sony IMX854, a 50MP sensor with 0.7µm pixels, for improved performance.
On the other hand, the 3x zoom lens will feature Sony’s IMX754+ sensor, an upgraded version of the IMX754 used in the Galaxy S23 Ultra and Galaxy S22 Ultra. This lens boasts 1.2µm pixels. The 12MP ultrawide lens will retain the same sensor as before, the Sony IMX564 with 1.4µm pixels.
In terms of the main rear camera, Samsung elevated the megapixels from 108MP to 200MP with the Galaxy S23 Ultra. The company continues to utilize the 200MP solution for the upcoming Galaxy S24 Ultra, featuring the in-house ISOCELL HP2SX sensor with 0.6µm pixels. Although it is an improved version of the ISOCELL HP2 found in the current model, there is no change to the pixel size.
Apart from these four cameras, the Galaxy S24 Ultra will also include a laser autofocus (AF) sensor at the back. As for the front camera, leaks haven’t provided much information, and we eagerly anticipate further leaks and rumors to shed light on this aspect.
Despite the absence of a 10x optical zoom camera, the Galaxy S24 Ultra may not disappoint thanks to improved camera software that enhances image quality with hybrid zoom beyond 5x magnification. Additionally, the phone could introduce the ISOCELL Zoom Anyplace tech, a groundbreaking solution for 200MP sensors that enhances the smartphone camera zoom experience. Not only does it automatically track and zoom in on selected subjects, but it also allows users to capture both the zoomed footage and the full field of view simultaneously. Furthermore, it maintains 4K video resolution up to 4x zoom and significantly reduces image processing times for 200MP shots.
The Galaxy S24 series is expected to hit the market in January 2024, and fans are eagerly waiting to get their hands on this cutting-edge smartphone.
