Motorola’s got some news for us. They’ve just launched two new G-series phones in Europe. Say hello to the Moto G04 and Moto G24. The G04 is a budget-friendly option, while the G24 is a bit more upmarket. The G24 is stepping in to take the place of last year’s G23.
These newbies join the ranks after Lenovo’s Motorola introduced the G Play (2024) and the G34. So, what’s the deal with the G04 and G24? Let’s dive in.
The G04 and G24 have a lot in common. They’ve got the same boxy look and a camera that sticks out a bit. There’s a fingerprint scanner on the side, right in the power button. Both phones sport a 6.6-inch display with a punch-hole in the center. The screen’s got an HD+ resolution and a 90Hz refresh rate.
You’ll notice some pretty thick bezels and a chin at the bottom. And guess what? These new G-series phones can handle a little water, thanks to their IP52-rated design.
But wait, there’s more. The G04 and G24 come with stereo speakers and Dolby Atmos. That means you’re in for a great audio experience. Both phones are powered by a 5,000mAh battery and support 15W fast charging. And they’re shipping with Android 14 OS right out of the box.
Now, let’s talk cameras and hardware. The G04 has a single 16MP rear camera with an LED flash and a 5MP selfie camera. The G24, on the other hand, features a dual rear camera setup with 50MP and 2MP sensors, plus an LED unit. It also has an 8MP front-facing camera.
Under the hood, the G04 is running on a Unisoc T606 processor. The G24, meanwhile, is powered by a Helio G85 chipset. Both phones come with 4GB RAM and virtual RAM technology. The G04 offers 64GB of internal storage, while the G24 goes up to 128GB. And yes, you can expand the storage on both devices with a microSD card.
The G04 is available in Concord Black, Sea Green, Satin Blue, and Sunrise Orange. It’s priced at €119 ($129). The G24, on the other hand, comes in Matte Charcoal, Ice Green, Blueberry, and Pink Lavender. It starts at €129 ($140). Both phones are currently available in Europe and are expected to hit other markets soon.
