The OnePlus 12: A Price Increase and Improved Features

The OnePlus 12 is rumored to be pricier than its predecessor, the OnePlus 11. Yogesh Brar, a reliable tipster, provides insight into the reasons behind this price hike.

According to Brar, the OnePlus 12 will feature a BOE panel, the same one used in the highly-regarded OPPO Find X6 Pro. OnePlus opted for this panel after encountering issues with Tianma and Samsung panels. The BOE panel seems to perform exceptionally well, without any notable problems such as the green line issue.

Additionally, the OnePlus 12 will boast a larger battery and improved cameras, contributing to the higher price. Although some of the phone’s specifications have already leaked, confirming these enhancements, the official unveiling is imminent.

Impressive Display and Performance

The OnePlus 12 will be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC and will feature a 6.82-inch QHD+ LTPO AMOLED display. As mentioned earlier, this display will be sourced from BOE, delivering a stunning visual experience with a 2,160Hz PWM dimming feature and remarkable brightness.

In terms of memory, the Chinese variant is expected to offer up to 24GB of RAM, while the global variant will likely provide up to 16GB. Storage options may reach up to 1TB. The phone will be available in black, white, and green color options.

Impressive Camera Capabilities

The OnePlus 12’s camera setup is equally impressive. It will feature a 50-megapixel main camera with OIS, utilizing Sony’s IMX966 sensor with a 23mm lens. This sensor is a 1/1.4-inch sensor with an f/1.7 aperture.

An additional 48-megapixel ultrawide unit (f/2.2 aperture, 14mm lens, 1/2-inch sensor) is also expected. Furthermore, the phone will come equipped with a 64-megapixel periscope telephoto camera (OV64B sensor, OIS, f/2.5 aperture, 70mm lens, 1/2-inch sensor).

Release Dates

The OnePlus 12 is anticipated to launch in China either in late December or early January. The global release may take slightly longer, but it’s expected within the first quarter of 2024.
