But recent patents indicate that Samsung is still working towards integrating the S Pen into its Z Fold phones.
It’s worth noting that this news is based on patent images found on Studimo, so it doesn’t guarantee any upcoming products. It simply shows that Samsung is interested in securing the technology, but we don’t know if they are actively working on it for the next Galaxy Z Fold or future iterations.
The patent images depict some interesting design ideas for integrating the S Pen into the future Galaxy Z Fold devices. One design involves an extended bezel on the top third of the phone, where the S Pen would be comfortably stored. To access the stylus, you would click it and pull it downward. While this seems convenient, it may impact the phone’s handling and deviate from Samsung’s focus on refining the foldable phone formula.
Another design shows the S Pen integrated into the back of the phone, similar to how it attaches magnetically to the back of the Galaxy Tab. It would sit in a small cavity below the camera, most likely attaching magnetically as well. This design may not disrupt the phone’s fundamental design as much as the previous one.
In any case, we hope to see Samsung successfully integrate the S Pen into its Galaxy Z Fold devices in the near future.
