Samsung has recently rolled out its October 2023 security update for several A-series phones. The Galaxy A72, Galaxy A33, and Galaxy A32 5G are among the devices receiving the latest security patch. This update has already been pushed to numerous Galaxy devices worldwide, including some tablets.
October Update Rolling Out to Galaxy A33 and More
As of now, Samsung’s October SMR (Security Maintenance Release) for the Galaxy A72 is only available in Latin America, with the firmware build number A725MUBU6DWJ1. According to the official changelog, the phone is receiving system reliability and stability improvements, along with the new security fixes.
Samsung is expected to release this update for the Galaxy A72 in other markets soon. Although no major new features are included in this update, Samsung intends to save everything for the upcoming Android 14 update, which will be the last one for this phone. The Android OS upgrade, accompanied by One UI 6.0, is set to arrive in a few months.
The Galaxy A33 has also recently received the October SMR, with widespread availability in Europe and Latin America. The new build numbers for these regions are A336BXXS7CWJ1 and A336MUBS7CWJ1 respectively. While the update does not bring any additional features, the phone is eligible for the Android 14-based One UI 6.0 update, which promises plenty of exciting enhancements.
Finally, for those using the Galaxy A32 5G, Samsung’s security fixes for October 2023 are now rolling out. The rollout has started in Latin America, with firmware version A326BXXU8CWJ2. Hopefully, the update will soon be available globally, including in the US. The 4G-only Galaxy A32 has not yet received this month’s security fixes.
October SMR Patches 46 Vulnerabilities on Samsung Devices
