Samsung Releases September Security Patch for More Galaxy Devices
Samsung has released the September security patch for several additional Galaxy devices, including the Galaxy S20 FE, Galaxy A72, and Galaxy A52. The update is also available widely for the Galaxy S23 series and Galaxy A52 5G. This month’s security release addresses over 60 vulnerabilities across Galaxy devices.
Galaxy S20 FE
The September SMR (Security Maintenance Release) is now rolling out to both the 4G and 5G versions of the Galaxy S20 FE. The update is currently available in Europe, with firmware build numbers G780GXXS7EWH8 and G781BXXS8HWH8. Samsung is expected to expand the release to other markets, including the US.
Galaxy A72
The September update for the Galaxy A72 is currently only available in Kazakhstan, Russia, and Ukraine. The new SMR comes with firmware version A725FXXU6DWH2 and includes system stability and reliability improvements.
Galaxy A52
The Galaxy A52 is also receiving the September SMR, with updated build numbers A525FXXU6DWH2 in Europe and A525MUBS6DWH3 in Latin America. This update brings system optimizations to the device, particularly in Europe. A wider rollout covering units in Asia, Africa, and other markets is expected to follow.
Galaxy A52 5G
The 5G version of the Galaxy A52 has already received the September update, starting with a limited rollout in Canada and expanding to Latin America. Users in Latin America are receiving the update with the build number A526BXXS5EWI1. However, the US versions of the Galaxy A52 5G are yet to receive the latest security patch.
The Galaxy S23 Series
The Galaxy S23 series was among the first to receive the September security update. Initially released in the US and Canada, the new patch is now being pushed to the latest flagships in Europe, with a new build number S91*BXXS3AWHR. Users in other regions can expect to receive this update in the coming days.
