WhatsApp is working on extending its View Once Mode to voice notes
WhatsApp has been developing the View Once mode for some time now, and it’s a handy tool to keep your messages safe. This feature allows you to send messages that can only be viewed once before they disappear, ensuring that no one else can access them. It’s especially useful for sensitive conversations that you don’t want to leave a paper trail. Whether it’s personal matters, business practices, or “saucy” discussions, the view once mode is a valuable feature to have.
Initially, this feature was only available for photos and videos, but now WhatsApp is expanding it to voice notes as well. Voice notes can be just as personal and private as text-based messages and images. With the new update, you’ll be able to send voice notes in View Once mode, ensuring that they can only be listened to once and can’t be downloaded, recorded, or forwarded by the recipient. The memo will live and die in the chat, providing an extreme level of privacy.
It’s worth noting that the sender won’t be able to access the recording either, further preserving privacy. This is an important aspect since you never really know what someone will do with the messages you send them.
Currently, this feature is being tested on a limited number of beta testers on the app. So, it’s not available to the public just yet. However, more testers will have access to it soon. If you’re on the beta version of WhatsApp, keep an eye out for this update.
